Vehicles

Week 13 of the challenge ran from the 24/3/13 till the 30/3/13.

The theme was Vehicles.

If you have been following my blog, you will know I have been blogging every day this week with the photos of my chosen vehicle. As I do not drive, I do spend a lot of time using different modes of transport and decided to make good use of that. I also wanted avoid taking photos of cars as to me, it was an obvious choice and most people doing the challenge chose that as option everyday!

Scooter

So all week, I have been avoiding taking photos of cars, as to me it is too obvious a choice and everyone else had taken loads! So after checking it would fit the brief, I chose to photographed one of my children's scooters.

Ok, there are no trains but I thought it was an apt title!

Today, I didn't have a plan for a shot. I just hoped to get a good shot as I walked into town. And everything went right! A plane flew over as despite the clouds, it was not covering the skies completely as it has all this week. The taxis were lined up the way I originally wanted to photograph them and a tram was pulled in at its stop as I walked past, allowing to get the shot I had wanted earlier this week. I even got a shot of an OAP on her mobility scooter!

Been wanting to photographed these plants for a couple of weeks now, so took advantage of doing so on my home today.

Trains

It was either cars or trains today, so I went with trains knowing I would be going past the station. The shot I wanted to get did not happen as there was no train at the spot I wanted both times I walked past. But managed to get to the bridge just in time to capture to trains going past!

London Buses

Today I decided it was time to get some photos of the buses. I am quite happy with all my shots I got, though the driver did get in two of them! He did not notice though until his work mates whistled at him to let him, so I left promptly!

Taxi

So today I walked up to the local train station where there is a taxi rank, which is usually busy with taxis. The majority of the time, there is queue of taxis lining the road up to the station and this was the shot I had hoped to get. But today, that was not the case, so I had to improvise. I got a shot that I was happy plus these three:

The Tram

Today, I decided to walk up to the end of my road where I live to get a shot of the Tram. It seems many of those doing the challenge are doing shots of cars, whether it is the whole thing or a close up of a specific part, so I want to continue my trend of doing something different.

I managed to miss three trams going past as I walked up. I was lucky to capture shots mainly of the trams on the other side of the road and it was too cold to wait for a tram to approach the platform I was stood on! So these were the shots I did not use:

The Tube

This week I will be photographing vehicles as part of photo a day challenge. This will mean more than a few shots will be taken as I aim for the perfect shot to use. So I have decided to blog any additional shots according which vehicle they are right here. 

As I was up London yesterday, I thought I would start the week with me photographing the tube on the underground. I was quite please with all my shots I got, which made it more difficult to choose which one to use. Here are the ones that were not:

Technique Practice 5

Took advantage while out this morning to get some shots which were not action. It has been snowing and is still snowing so wanted to capture that! They are not perfect as they had to be done quickly, but feel it shows that my camera can take fantastic shots despite not being a DSLR camera!

Action

Week 12 of the challenge ran from 17/3/13 till the 23/3/13.

The theme was Action.

The brief was to capture action. For me, personally, that tends to involve some sort of movement but as the week went on, I found it really could be anything! I thought I would find this week hard but I think it was just having the inspiration for the shot that I struggled with most!
