Crowds (Street Photography)

Week 25 of the challenge ran from the 16/6/13 till the 22/6/13.

The theme was Crowds.

Again the theme was tweeked, though it was titles Crowds, it was really about Street Photography. I have to admit I was in my element and was really pleased with the photos I captured this week. It did help that I spent most of the week travelling around different places, specifically central London, so I had the opportunity to capture a variety of different shots. This week, I also edited every shot I took into black and white.

Children

Week 24 of the challenge ran from the 9/6/13 till the 15/6/13.

The theme was Children.

As this theme had been known for a while, a few people had made concerns known that they were uncomfortable photographing their children or did not have children, so the brief was amended accordingly. But I made it known I was not completely happy with the brief, feeling it alienated those who were more than happy to photograph their children and that there were ways to do so without the need to show the child's face, as I showed in an example I posted. So the brief was again adjusted and led to this: two options to be done separately or mixed together. Option A was to recreate a childhood memory and Option B was to produce a faceless photo of a child. In the end, I did more a mixture after some inspiration came to me.

Summer Landscapes

Week 23 of the challenge ran from the 2/6/13 till the 8/6/13.

The theme was Summer Landscapes.

Rilly (who sets the briefs each week) was very reluctant to do this theme, despite already being on the list for this week and had planned to change it. But after some moaning from other members of the group, it was decided we would do it. I had loved doing Landscapes back in March so was happy to do this one again. Similar to the previous week, a couple of photos were not taken on the day due to time constraint. I also took the opportunity to reshoot a couple of Landscapes I had shot back in the original landscape and really enjoyed comparing the difference 3 months could make.

Animals and Insects

Week 22 of the challenge ran from the 26/5/13 till the 1/6/13.

The theme was Animals and Insects.

I was quite excited about this theme as I knew I would be on holiday during this week and would probably be able to capture a good variety of different animals, birds and insects. Sadly, due to the weather, it didn't pan out the way I had hoped. Luckily, due to the number of people who would probably go to the farm or to the zoo to capture images, we were allowed to post three photos taken on the same day across the week. Definitely helpful for me!

Reflections

Week 21 of the challenge ran from the 19/5/13 till the 25/5/13.

The theme was Reflections.

Quite a straightforward theme and an easy brief to follow. I decided to keep it simple by doing reflections in the water, mirrors and windows. Admittedly there are a couple of dodgy pictures as they were quick photos due to not having much time. One ended up being done on the IPhone as I forgot to put the battery back in before heading out to get the shot I wanted.
