Action

Week 12 of the challenge ran from 17/3/13 till the 23/3/13.

The theme was Action.

The brief was to capture action. For me, personally, that tends to involve some sort of movement but as the week went on, I found it really could be anything! I thought I would find this week hard but I think it was just having the inspiration for the shot that I struggled with most!

Day 1 - Forward Roll

Day 2 - Walking Home

Day 3 - A Rainy Slide

Day 4 - Exploring

Day 5 - Unlocking

Day 6 - Feeding Frenzy

Day 7 - Scooting

Technique Practice 4

As you will see tomorrow, this week's theme was Action. Because these shots can be hard to get, it turned out I took loads of extra photos, some which met the brief and others did not but came out looking great anyway! So here is a select few of the many practice shots I have taken this week.

Technique Practice 3

These next four photos were taken this week and did not make it into my photo a day challenge.

This one was taken from a different angle of the tree from Day 4.

Spring

Week 11 of the challenge ran from the 10/3/13 till the 16/3/13.

The theme was Spring.

The idea for the week, by taking into consideration where everyone lived, was to take photos of what Spring means to us. To me, this would be Mother's Day, change in the season and weather, blossom, flowers and so on. But it was not so easy as the weather has been awful all week, including the snow we had at the beginning of the week!

Day 1 - Mother's Day Present

Day 2 - Daffodils

Day 3 - A Budding Tree

Day 4 - Blossom

Day 5 - A Blossom Covered Tree

Day 6 - Daffodils

Day 7 - Raindrops

Landscape

Week ten of the challenge ran from the 3/3/13 till the 9/3/13.

The theme was Landscape.

This week we were given the task of photographing Landscapes, but as not everyone lives in the country, it was extended to include cityscape and seascape. It had to be shot in landscape, rather than portrait. I had a plan of what I wanted to shoot but sadly weather and other circumstances made me change the shots. I also decided to experiment with colours this week, which has led to 6 shots being in either sepia or black and white.

Day 1 - My street

Day 2 - Train Tracks

Day 3 - Park Hill

Day 4 - Croydon Skyline

Day 5 - Rebuilding the Landscape

Day 6 - Gas Works

Day 7 - Crystal Palace Radio Tower

Technique Practice 2

The following photos are me experimenting with different settings on my camera and/or did not make the cut for my photo challenge! This is only a select few photos and ones I really love!

This photo was taken from my bedroom window, using Cloudy Scene Setting and Vivid Blue Colour setting on my camera. The sky was a gorgeous shade of blue and I wanted to see what happened if I use these settings.

The next two are photos I had taken for this week's theme in my photo a day challenge. I have been trying out different colours and today I decided to shoot in black and white and loved how these two came out!

The next three shots are of three of my children, Rachael, Charlie and Owen. I shot in Black and White and in macro. Would have preferred better lighting though as feel that would have enhanced the shots.

This final shot is what happens when your child moves away quickly just as you shoot the picture. I absolutely love the ghostly effect it has given me!

Buildings

Week Nine of the challenge ran from the 24/2/13 till the 2/3/13.

The theme was Buildings.

I found out about this theme a few weeks ago and was really pleased as it tied in with a week I knew I would be up London. The basic idea was just to go out and take a photo of a building. Can't get much easier than that, can it? Well in a way, it can. It was not the case of not finding a building to photographed but the getting the angle, the details and so on perfect!

Day 1 - My House

Day 2 - The 50p Tower

Day 3 - Hammersmith Apollo

Day 4 - Altitude 25

Day 5 - Leslie Arms Pub

Day 6 - The O2 Arena

Day 7 - Holmesdale Road Entrance, Selhurst Park
